Actor Timeline: Katherine Hepburn

In honor of my most recent DVD purchase, "The Philadelphia Story," I thought it would be good to do an actor timeline of my all-time FAVORITE, the Great Kate. Here are a few of her choice gems:

Summertime, 1955... Hepburn travels to Venice, falls in love with a nice Italian man, and falls into the canal. Naturally.

The African Queen, 1951... Kate is a missionary. Bogey is a gin-swilling riverboat captain. Needless to say, they fall in love as they float down an African river together.

The Philadelphia Story, 1940... My favorite Hepburn movie and one of my favorite films of all time. I can boldly say it's one of the top three best romantic comedies ever made. Kate is sassy, classy, and wears slacks, which simply wasn't done back then. She holds her own amongst her leading men, Cary Grant and Jimmy Stewart.

Bringing Up Baby, 1938... A classic screwball comedy. Hepburn and Cary Grant make a fantastic pair as they bumble, traipse, and trip about the countryside chasing a leopard named Baby.

Allie, think of your top 5 summer movies...Hmmmm mine would include "Rear Window" and "Moonspinners" Do you remember that one with Hayley Mills? I'll try to think of more.

My favorite is Philadelphia Story too!! I have it on VHS and it's a hassle but it's so worth it because Katherine Hepburn is truly a goddess in it!

Yes, of course I remember Moonspinners. That will probs be on my list. But not Rear Window. Because I hate Grace Kelly.

Get over Grace.
