Thanksgiving night on the roof of the villa in Cairo.

Which talent would you most like to have?
The basic motor skills required to catch a ball, throw a Frisbee, or perform any basic functions that require hand-eye coordination. If we could throw in the talent of me not hitting my head on things all the time, that would be awesome.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I would give myself the gift of perspective, and teach myself not to worry so much...because things are going to be okay.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?
The quality of the people in my life.

What is your most treasured possession?
My travel writings.

What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery?
Day-wear rompers.

What do you most value in your friends?
Generosity. There are a lot of very nice, very true things I could say about my friends; but lately I've started to realize how able/willing we are to share our abilities and resources with each other. And I think that's one important sign of a healthy community.

Which historical figure do you most identify with?
Mother Teresa...duh.

Who is your favorite hero of fiction?
Banksy.

What is it that you most dislike?
Fundamentalism.

What is your greatest regret?
Waiting 20 years to realize how good my family is and how lucky I was to grow up like I did.
