When I was in kindergarten, one of the terms of endearment that my classmates had for me was "Allison Wonderland." Get it? It sort of sounds like Alice in Wonderland when it's slurred together. Well, lately I have been feeling like Alice. And I admire the way she sees the world, imagining that flowers can talk, celebrating un-birthdays, chasing rabbits... I think I am feeling like Alice because spring is here. The cotton candy pink blossoms on the trees have seemed to bloom over night. I stroke the soft fur of a rabbit named Norah at my friend's house, and feed her some broccoli. Daffodils bow their heads at me in the morning as walk by. I say, "Good morning, daffodils." Hummingbirds and squirrels are about. I see a tree with bright magenta flowers, the color seeming to be painted on. And then I see trees with big white blossoms that are in need of paint. Since when did the world around me become a wonderland? My life is a bit topsy-turvy right now, as I explore new territories, but I like it.
