Apparently, last night he went bar-hopping with his work buddies, and my brother had to drive him home. Hoping my brother is embellishing that story because, dad, you are the biggest lightweight in the world and I feel like bar-hopping is a not so hot idea.
Anyway, here are 49 reasons why I love my dad...
1. Taught me to love oldies music
2. Mr. Fix-It
3. Is a child at heart
4. Surfs, which is totally radical
5. Really good at surfing... Like, he wins contests
6. Cried when he dropped me off at college... so sweet
7. Supports my passions
8. Thinks I'm funny... Which makes me feel good
9. Probably thinks I'm funny because we have the same sense of humor, which is the best sense of humor
10. Is a good gardener. Used to garden the Mission Rose Garden, which, if you are from SB, you know is a big deal
11. Rescued me from drowning in a pool when I was one year's old
12. Reads my blog... again, so supportive
13. Likes coffee as much as I do... maybe more
14. One time when we went to Disneyland I was too scared to go on Splash Mountain, so my dad took me to see the singing bear show and my mom and brother went on Splash Mountain.
15. Very generous
16. Always loves my cooking (or at least tells me he does)
17. Loves Mel Brooks comedies
18. Used to pick me up from school on his skateboard when I was in kindergarten, and I would sit on the front part while he skated home
19. Is still a really good skateboarder
20. Always says he wants to kick my boyfriend's ass, but secretly I think he really likes him
21. Loves animals
22. Is the surrogate dad of my best friend, who doesn't have a real dad
23. Keeps pieces of art that I made for him when I was a kid
24. Is crafty... He sewed curtains for his surf wagon recently
25. Has picked me up from LAX when he had the stomach flu

27. Is good at baseball, and taught me to like it

Oh, my gosh....he's going to cry when he reads this.
You don't know about this, but you need to add "fixed the drier so we wouldn't have to buy a new fangled computerized one with money we don't have" to your list. He spent his day off last week doing that.
P.S. I forgot how gosh darned cute those puppies were.
