Remember how I told you that I was going on a little surprise road trip? Well, good thing I didn't expound on that detail because Lisa, the surprisee, read my blog! Luckily, she didn't think anything of it.

Yes, my old small group from college drove up to Vancouver to see our mentor, Lisa, and it was such a good time to relax and get away with my soul sisters. Seriously, these girls are the funniest. They are the wisest. They are the most enjoyable and most lovable and most full of love.

Lisa was genuinely surprised when we knocked at her and her husband's apartment door. We were SO loud (we're always loud though). From there we had a wonderful dinner in the city, sipped some wine and chatted about life (although I got a little sleepy).

Lisa baked us scones in the morning and took us to Granville Island, a big public market with lots of good food and arts & crafts. Krysta and I sipped mulled wine and got excited over our foreign currency. Heidi got attacked by a hungry seagull, which was unfortunate.

And I spotted a celebrity! Lisa & J.J.'s first celeb sighting in Vancouver! It was Ron Livingston
from Office Space and "Sex in the City" (he played Berger, who was such a nut-case). But he is quite attractive, even in real life. We thought about stalking him a little, but took the higher road.

It was a quick excursion, but it was well worth it, seeing these young women who inspire, encourage, and warm my heart so much. I know that is terribly sappy to say, but hey, it's a BRAND NEW DAY, right?
