Away We Go stars John Krasinski ("The Office") and Maya Rudolph (SNL alumna), is directed by Sam Mendes (American Beauty, Revolutionary Road), and written by Dave Eggers and Vendela Vida. Eggers is a great writer-- I've read his Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius-- and he is also the founder of 826, a nonprofit writer center for kids, which has locations all around the nation, including Seattle. Last year, I volunteered for a time, and it was such a wonderful experience. So 826 did a special screening of the film (it's actual release date is June 25) and Eggers and Vida, who are married, were there for a Q & A. Away We Go was really lovely. Rudolph and Krasinski make a refreshingly perfect pair, and you really grow attached to them as they journey their way from here to there, encountering a lot of crazies, trying to find the best place to raise their child.

Then I saw Priceless, starring the never-disappointing Audrey Tatou, and the ever-so dreamy Gad Elmaleh. It takes place on the French Rivera, so naturally I had cheese, baguette, and wine while I watched it. The film is all about gold-digging and money... but where does love fit in to that?? Well, mon amis, you'll just have to see it and find out.

I saw Priceless a little while ago, and was actually surprised by how much I liked it. Audrey Toutou looks amazing in it, too!
