On Saturday night, I went to my very first roller derby bout. Seattle's Key Arena was packed with fans of the all-ladies sport. The PBR overfloweth. There were shoves and wipeouts aplenty. It was the first bout of the season, so the four Rat City Roller Girl teams played each other, the teams being the Derby Liberation Front (that was the team I was cheering for), the Sockit Wenches, Grave Danger, and the Throttle Rockets. It was so. fun. I can't wait to go again and yell my ass off.
Side note: Trying to figure out what my roller derby name would be. Ginger Snap? Britney Fears? Coco Loco?
