Surprise Date

As I mentioned previously, Britta took me on a surprise date on Saturday night... The surprise ended up being a panto performance of my all-time favorite story, Peter Pan!

Panto is a type of performance that has been popular in England for quite some time, and involves audience participation, song-and-dance, and cross dressing. Speech and movement are exaggerated.

This was my first time experiencing a panto performance and it was so much fun -- rowdy, over-the-top, and silly. It was perfect for both adults and children. Peter Pan is playing one more weekend, so I highly recommend you catch it if you're in the area!

SO fun! I used to go to pantos every Christmas when I was a young'un! And even acted in a few. Did they throw sweets into the audience? Such fun as Miranda's mother would say!
