Question of the Day

Confession: I am HORRIBLE at saving and I'm reeeeeally good at spending. I wish my job was spending money. But guess what, it's not. So I've put myself on a budget and so far it's going pretty well. It's a good exercise in restraint. But I'm afraid of becoming burnt out and going on a mad shopping spree... It's all about balance, I suppose.

I'm curious, readers: How do you consciously save money? Do you limit how many times you eat out per week? Take out an allotted amount per month from the bank? Keep a loose change jar?

I'd love to read your tips and ideas! Thanks!

I have a savings account, but I'm bad at putting money in it. Really bad. So bad that I only pay attention to it when I'm taking money out of it.

I'm really bad at saving but my priority right now is getting out of debt. Mint.com helps a lot. They even have an app so you can keep track of how much and where you're spending your money. For me, organization is key and it really helps me out a lot. They have a lot of tips on saving money too.
