The Proust Questionnaire

How can one person be so talented? Miss Moorea Seal, my college friend who is everything from musician, to blogger, to jewelry-maker, graces me with her wise words-- and her humor.


What is your current state of mind?
Proactive! (Not the face wash...that stuff doesn't work!)

What is your idea of perfect happiness?
When everything is ruined, broken, is lost, passes by, I want to be able to say, "now I have nothing left but happiness." And nothing beats waking up next to the person you love.

What or who is the greatest love of your life?
I guess my greatest love is...the ability to love and freely make my own choices. I think it comes from a mysterious being in the stars that, for me, is God.

What is the quality you most like in a man?
Compassion and wisdom.

What is the quality you most like in a woman?
Self-respect.

Which living person do you most admire?
My grandmother. She is an 85 yr. old strong, progressive, and independent spirit who has always strove to help others while leading her own path. Leagues ahead of her time!

What is your greatest extravagance?
A fantastic pair of shoes. Most recent purchase: Bright teal-y green wedges from H & M.

When and where were you happiest?
Working at Camp Hammer in Santa Cruz. Through major trauma right before camp, I learned how to truly be weak and allow others to love me. And by finally being weak and learning to need others, I truly learned real strength. That is happiness.

On what occasion do you lie?
Ugh... in the few circumstances when I am deciding between withholding truth or just saying it, neither ever feel to be a good option.

What is your greatest fear?
My greatest fear has already happened. I now know that I can't protect everyone from trauma, but any effort is still worth while. ♥

What is the trait you most deplore in yourself?
I am extremely forgetful. At my old house, I had to put three different signs around my kitchen reminding myself to turn off the stove when I used it. Eek!

What is the trait you most deplore in others?
Manipulation.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
My forgetfulness.

Which historical figure do you most identify with?
Joan of Arc. She was so badass and wanted freedom for her people. Go gurl!

What is your greatest regret?
Everyday I wish that I would remember to call my grandparents.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Raising my sisters as if they were my own daughters. I am so immensely proud of them.
