2011 Tony's

So much to say. I've never seen "Company," but a lot of the songs are amazingly classic. "Being Alive" (beaauuutiful and sad), "The Ladies Who Lunch" (sung by Jack Donaghy's mother), "Marry Me a Little" (*bursts into tears*)... And would you look at the stars in this revival?! NPH, Colbert, Martha Plimpton, Kate Finneran (saw her in "Promises, Promises"), Christina Hendricks, Patti LuPone!

The sole reason I'd see "Catch Me If You Can: The Musical" is: NORBERT LEO BUTZ. Amazeballs. Broadway god. Watch him in this (be still, my beating eggs). I don't give a care about that nasally singer at the beginning. It's all about Norbert.

Daniel Radcliffe! Look at you! You're great on stage (with your clothes on)! "How To Succeed in Business (Without Really Trying)" would be so so so fun to see. Another classic. And it's like a musical version of "Mad Men," so....

Ugghhh. How lovely it would be to live in New York and have access to fabulous musical theater.... What a treat.

Geeky Musical Theater Post

This is an amazing example of musical theater and choreography. Probably my favorite musical theater number of all time. Of ALL TIME, y'all! Choreographed by Jerome Robbins. Tiger Lily played by Sondra Lee. How cute is she?!

Oh an P.S.: I hope you're not offended by the politically incorrect Native Americanisms. Different time, you guys. Different time.

I've gotta crow!

Beyond happy to report that Peter Pan, the musical, is a part of Seattle Children's Theatre's 2009-10 season!

I've never seen this show live, so I'm very thrilled and already looking forward to it.

Who wants to come
to Neverland with me?!

Glee

OK, so last night, Stacey and I watched this brand-new show called Glee, about a loser-status Glee Club at a high school, and a really cute Spanish teacher who wants to make it a big deal.

Pretty much, our lives have changed. From the moment that one kid started singing "Where is Love" from Oliver! I was hooked. And reminded that deep, deep down in my soul, I am a major musical theatre geek, and still belt out songs from Wicked in the shower when no one's home. And still know how to do a jazz square. And still cheat out to "audiences."

Sad news though: Last night's episode was just a preview. The show won't be on until the fall!

But watch the ep here until then!

You're Awful

Why can't life be as witty and charming as it is in musicals like, "On the Town"?

Special thanks to Maryann for posting this on her "too much time on my hands" site. I find myself in the same situation.
