Sorry for the Absence!

On Friday, June 29, my best friend got married! It was the most beautiful and touching wedding -- I really can't believe it went off without a hitch. The setting was amazing. A farm in Snohomish, WA, complete with barnyard animals. Stacey wore a J. Crew wedding dress, and a gardenia in her hair. The bridesmaids wore a fun palette of colors that came together so well, as you can see. Our bouquets were made up of peonies, white roses, and sprigs of rosemary. So perfect. I will post more pictures of the special day once I get them :)

Walking on Sunshine

image from fryd + design

Happy weekend, everyone! Looks like it's going to be a fairly sunny one in Seattle-- thank heavens! I'm off to do a little downtown shopping, and hopefully catch some rays tomorrow and Sunday. Love you, peace!

Style Icon: Royal Wedding Edition

Unless you've been living under a rock, you know that the Royal Wedding is coming up (broadcast live in the States this Friday at 3 a.m.). I can't say that I'm enraptured with all of this William & Kate hullabaloo, but I can say that if I were invited to this momentous occasion, I would wear the above. Will you be watching the ceremony??

Say it's only a paper moon

Wouldn't it be cute to have an old fashioned paper moon photo opportunity at a wedding reception?

Just a thought. I invite you to use this idea if you're getting married soon, as I am definitely not :)

Oh, Wedding Blogs

Sometimes when I'm bored, I look at wedding blogs, which could be considered borderline unhealthy, considering (a) I'm not getting married anytime soon since (b) I do not have a significant other to marry currently. But mostly I'm interested in the styling and the DIY ideas they have.... and sometimes I get caught up in the sweeping romance of it all. And then I have to slap myself in the face.

Here are some of my favorites:

"First I'm going to buy a wedding dress, then I'm going to die, and then I'll meet a cute guy in heaven"

Lately I've become a bit wedding-obsessed. No idea why. Probably crazy lady hormones. Above are photos from a GORGEOUS wedding featured on the wedding blog Ruffled. This is the kind of wedding I want someday... Homey, fun, vintage, floral... I love the bride's lacy veil, the assorted macarons and tarts, the homemade jelly wedding favor, the simple white balloons floating in a green field, the lavender table flowers, Parisian note cards, mismatched jars of dahlias, and doily banners. So inspiring. Check out more!

A Wedding in the Woods

My friend Shantel got married to her love David recently! Their wedding took place in the woods, in Northern California. I love the bare-feet, the groom's simple outfit, and the bride's big white rose in her hair. Sigh. Congrats, Shantel and David!

Wedding Recap

Shauna and Cory, costumed in Regency-esque garb, were married by a Mennonite pastor on a sunny late afternoon... I love each of their bouquets!

They stood in a field overlooking the Puget Sound, with an awesome Mt. Rainier on the horizon.

Shauna's beautiful ring, passed down from her grandmother.

The reception featured jello molds, among other wonderful things.

And guests had the option of staying in teepees...

And covered wagons.

Can you say, "Coolest wedding ever?"

Model-turned-hella-good-artist, Fanny Bostrom married her longtime boyfriend recently...

And, yeah, she is wearing WHITE DUNGAREES!
Cute overload!

I mean c'mon, Fanny, you are amazing.

The flower crown, the braids, the lipstick...

Congrats, Bill and Fanny!!!!
