I try my best to stay away from reality TV in general. It's usually trashy, it's far from reality, and it messes with our perception. Sadly, I could not stay away from this season's "Project Runway." This mostly had to do with a contestant-- and last night's winner-- named Christian Siriano, a 21 year old design PRODIGY. Seriously, people. Where did this little guy inherit such MAD SKILLZ? He must have been born with it.
His final collection featured dramatic ruffles, a feather dress, and a black and nude pallette. It was amaz(ing)....
The other reason Christian rocks universal socks is that he is such a sassy pants. Some of my favorite Christianisms are:
"If I was a diva I would be called Ferocia Coutura and i would spray girls in the eyes with hairspray!"
and
"Fierce"
and
"Don't get betchy."
Who doesn't love a sassy gay man who has a Valley Girl accent? But honestly, great show last night. They had Posh Beckham (I have a guilty obsession with her) as a guest judge and she was gushing over Christian's duds. Instead of "fierce" she claimed them to be "major." Ah, the British. And when it came down to Christian and Rami, it was so intense... Both presented strong collections, and whenever the camera went on Christian his little chin would quiver as he held back tears. I was dying. My girlfriends and I FREAKED when he was declared the winner. He totals deserved it.
There is nothing like a good dose of reality TV to set your heart aflutter.
