The Autumn Leaves Caress the Trees, Tenderly...

The funny thing about autumn is that I always forget how much I love it. Probably because it is always so heartbreaking to see summer go. But on that first autumnal day of the year, all the bitterness I hold towards the changing seasons melts away. Because autumn (in Seattle) means:
  • The air starts smelling like candied apples
  • Time to break out woolen sweaters, homemade scarves, and bright red mittens (I just purchased a knit hat that looks like the color of rainbow sherbet)
  • Walks along the canal and over to Fremont to buy groceries from PCC are made more enjoyable by golden leaves on trees, duck couples, and crazy squirrels clinging to branches high above
  • Tea kettles are certainly getting more use... And soups are being more readily consumed... My room-mate and I made chicken tortilla soup for our friends and it was delicious!
What is your favorite part about the autumn season?

My Autumn Wishlist:

Gotta keep those ears warm

Plaid is rad.

What would autumn be without a pumpkin from a local patch?

My apartment doesn't have a fireplace. This cardboard one will do.

It's always smart to have a good book at hand to curl up with on stormy autumn nights. This one is next on my reading list.
