Really digging this song by Dum Dum Girls. The lead singer reminds me a bit of Chrissy Hynde and Neko Case.

I first heard it when I watched the trailer for The Canyons, a film that will take place in that particular area of L.A. Sometimes I wish I lived in L.A. (Echo Park, Laurel Canyon, or Silver Lake specifically). I would just eat fish tacos and plant succulents all day. And wear shorts, and go to concerts at the Hollywood Bowl, and hang out with celebrities at the Chateau Marmont, ... and get stuck in traffic, and get mad because I'm so pale... Hmmm.

Never Have I Turned to Any Other Man

This is one of those songs I could listen to over and over again without getting sick of. I often listen to it five times in a row. 


I'm not big on going to concerts much, but if I had the chance to see Rufus in concert, I'd pay the big bucks. Sadly he's not coming to Seattle any time soon.


He's such an amazing artist and so gifted. Also I have a crush on him. I don't care that he's gay. I've got a big fat flaming crush on him!!! HE VOICE IS LIKE NAKED VELVET BUTTER .

Waxing Californian

This song came on a mix I was listening to last night while making dinner. It made me yearn for summer and for my home in Santa Barbara as well. It captures that 70s-California-canyon vibe... Makes me think of California Oak trees, camping, bare feet, long hair.... Ahhh, can't we just skip spring and get to summer already?!

White Nights

I love Oh Land. She's so pretty and her voice is very unique. Her music video for the song "White Nights" is a riot to watch. Lots of great choreography and costumes.

I'm So Sad

I'm about to cry. Goodbye, Davy. You were my favorite Monkee and such a big part of my childhood. I loved listening to the Monkees when I was kid, and watching reruns of the TV show.

Hello Dolly

Today I solely listened to early Dolly Parton. She is so amazing. So funny, so gorgeous, and so talented. But listening to her songs made me kind of sad because, like, one was about having a stillborn baby, and another was about her lover putting her in a mental institution... SAD FACE.

This song is dedicated my main man, who's turning the big 2-8 today. We both love this song because it's similar to us... we are opposites in some ways, but it brings a good balance to our relationship. We also enjoy wearing tie die outfits.

Kind of a dorky song, but I love the music video. Sara always taps into a gal's inner fantasies, like having personal back-up dancers and bright-colored confetti exploding everywhere.

Sob Fest

I love this song (the original is by Bonnie Raitt); and although I'm not the biggest Bon Iver fan, I do love their cover of it. So gorgeous. One of the best "break-up" songs ever written.
