List Your Summer Goals
I'm going to only list five because a) it's more practical b) I'm limited on time this morning:
1. Survive the heat of New York City
2. Make art / Sell art!
3. Explore New York every damn day of the summer
4. Be a good support to Josh as he does a rigorous program at the Cooper Union
5. Keep in touch with friends and family

Love on Top

| You are my hero, B |
The weekend is here! Tonight I'm going to my first murder-mystery party... I'll be the cook of British manor. And the weekend is supposed to be a scorcher, so Josh and I will be hitting up a public pool and probably escaping into an A/C-ed movie theater. What are you up to?

I own this
Don't you think J. Crew has the best swimsuits? I just bought this one because my only trusty one-piece has gone missing ... Girl's gotta have a one-piece for those special occasions when she doesn't feel like showing off her rockin' abs. I think the teal color will look good with my hair -- and it was on sale!

Summer Beauty Essentials
- Alba Botanica hand & body lotion cocoa butter - I love this lotion because it's creamy and tropical scented.
- Desert Essence organic foot repair cream - Feet get beat-up in the summer months, thanks to sandal exposure and increased activities. This would be perfect for end-of-day relief.
- Josie Maran protect daily sun protection argan oil - I've heard really good things about Josie Maran's SPF products. I can't wait to try them out.
- Benefit Cosmetics cheek bronzer - Bronzer is a must for summer. I recommend this one.
- Ole Henriksen all purpose aloe vera gel - Try to avoid sunburns, but if you slip up, aloe vera gel chilled in the refrigerator will ease the pain.
- Deborah Lippmann nail polish - Summer is the time to flaunt brightly-colored nails!
- Shiseido pureness oil-control blotting paper - A must-have for your purse. If you're feeling a little too shiny during the day, blot away.
- Clinique chubby stick moisturizing lip color balm - Tinted lips look more natural for the summer. This product will leave your lips moisturized, and they come in punchy colors.
- Caudalie beauty elixir - If your face is feeling hot and bothered, spritz this on any time of the day for instant refreshment.
- Burt's Bees sun protecting lip balm - Don't forget to protect the lips from sun damage. Always throw this in your beach bag.
*All of these products are cruelty-free.

Waxing Californian

This song came on a mix I was listening to last night while making dinner. It made me yearn for summer and for my home in Santa Barbara as well. It captures that 70s-California-canyon vibe... Makes me think of California Oak trees, camping, bare feet, long hair.... Ahhh, can't we just skip spring and get to summer already?!

Backyard Italian Party
Last Sunday, a very special party occurred, in celebration of a great house that's been in "the family" for two years+. The residents are going their separate ways, so they held an amazing Italian party in the backyard, complete with tiki torches, kale caesar salad, lots of vino, picnic blankets, sparklers, and an impromptu "Poker Face" performance.
It's events like these that make me so thankful for the friendships in my life; and I know I'm going to look back at these times when I'm an old lady and laugh about all the fun I had.
