The weekend is here! Tonight I'm going to my first murder-mystery party... I'll be the cook of British manor. And the weekend is supposed to be a scorcher, so Josh and I will be hitting up a public pool and probably escaping into an A/C-ed movie theater. What are you up to?

Waxing Californian

This song came on a mix I was listening to last night while making dinner. It made me yearn for summer and for my home in Santa Barbara as well. It captures that 70s-California-canyon vibe... Makes me think of California Oak trees, camping, bare feet, long hair.... Ahhh, can't we just skip spring and get to summer already?!

Backyard Italian Party

Last Sunday, a very special party occurred, in celebration of a great house that's been in "the family" for two years+. The residents are going their separate ways, so they held an amazing Italian party in the backyard, complete with tiki torches, kale caesar salad, lots of vino, picnic blankets, sparklers, and an impromptu "Poker Face" performance.

It's events like these that make me so thankful for the friendships in my life; and I know I'm going to look back at these times when I'm an old lady and laugh about all the fun I had.
