Cinco de Drinko

Apparently, I am not the first one to say "Cinco de Drinko," which is disappointing because I felt really clever when I thought of it.

Cinco de Mayo was yesterday, and I love love love this holiday because it gives me an excuse to pig out on Mexican food. Question: Why does Mexican food dominate? I don't think I could ever get sick of it. To answer my own posed question, I think it's because the ingredients are so fresh. There, issue solved.

Last night Stacey and Alex and I made a Mexican feast of margaritas (I had two. Huge mistake? You decide.), carnitas, guacamole, roasted peppers and onions, garlic-lime black beans... Long story short we ate a lot while listening to a mariachi music Pandora station. So so so glorious. I love margaritas. Yeah, you thought we moved on from that subject, but I brought it back.

What I accomplished today:

1. Cleaned kitchen of all stacks of dirty dishes
2. Went on a run (and felt very out-of-breath)
3. Exchanged the wrong size boot for right one at Urban Outfitters, so that now both boots are size eight. Huzzah!
4. Bike ride to Trophy Cupcakes with Joe
5. Repaired holes in wall at Joe's house... HOW those holes were made, you'll just have to ask Joe
6. Recorded a song with Joe (I sang!)
7. Made tacos for dinner
8. Painted-by-numbers

And now I will sleep. Sleep very well.

Why I Love Santa Barbara

1. Lunch at Los Arroyos: Chips, Salsa, Gauc, Iced Tea, Carnitas Tacos. I decided that if and when I get married, Mexican food will be catered.

2. I'm wearing a dress and sandals. And I'm not cold. I need to use sunglasses. Because there's this thing called sunshine here.

3. My dogs are so wonderful. Obsessed. Rosie's gotten kind of fat but I still love her. Ralphie likes to attack balloons.

4. Tita, my bestest friend. She tells really funny stories. Like she told me that at SB's community college graduation, one girl wrote on her announcement card that she was going to work at Spearmint Rhino Gentleman's Club as a joke. Right away her boyfriend called her and broke up with her. Then she ran off crying. Classic.

5. Blue ocean, Mediterranean landscape, bougainvillea, palms = paradise.
