Moorea took some editorial shots of me for her online shop, and I think I look pretty cute, if not very bundled up.

Typical Day vs. Dream Day

Via Our City Lights, I discovered that Real Simple Magazine has a fun little blog community called simply stated. The diy charts above were a hoot to make. I wish I didn't love sleep as much as I do, otherwise I'd probably get a lot more done in my day. The rest of my "typical day," I'm pretty much online. Sigh. What an exciting life I live.

Oh my gosh, I was inadvertently featured on a really cool blog!

Here's how it happened: Moorea bought my redheads have more fun card --> sent it to a cool blogger named Kelly Ann Mount --> her space was featured on a cool blog called Eva Black Design --> my card is hanging up in Kelly Ann's space and Eva Black photographed it. cool CoOl COOL!

Goodbye, No Small Dreams

...And Hello Ginger Al!

I've changed the name of my blog. I know, super big deal. No Small Dreams was a name I came up with in college -- it references a Goethe quote -- and now, at age 26, I'm feeling like I've outgrown that title and want something a little more self-descriptive. GINGER AL. I am a redhead/ginger and my name is Al(lie). My parents call me Al, which is cute. Also, if we want to take this even further, I love ginger ale, especially paired with whisky!

Special thanks to my lovely, talented boyfriend, who designed the header. I did the illustration, of course.

Tell me what you think of the change! Like? Dislike? Not important to your life in any sense?

PS: I might eventually change the url for the blog, but for now, it's still the same.

I mentioned awhile ago that I'm now contributing to another blog... Well, I just wanted to make a formal post about it, and encourage you, my faithful readers, to hop on over to Needle+Thread and check out the fun content! I'm so happy to be given this opportunity, to write for a prominent Seattle style blog (Thank you to Kam, the creator of N+T). I also get to go to fun events like fashion shows! Glory be!

Definition of a man repeller: "outfitting oneself in a sartorially offensive way that will result in repelling members of the opposite sex. Anger!

Yesterday and today were a testament to the fact that I really love--scratch that--am obsessed with my blog. I was so maaaaaaaad that I couldn't post! Weren't you? I bet the people at Blogger have gotten so much negative vibes, like pointy daggers heading for their hearts. Sons of bitches. Ok, I'm over it, we're back, we're doing well... I'm listening to Maroon 5... whyyyyyy... probably because Moorea always makes me watch "The Voice" and that damn Adam Levine is a sexy minx.

My New Roots' tag-line is "how to make healthy choices every day." That is certainly something I can use a lesson in, nutrition-wise. The blog is run by Sarah Britton, a holistic nutritionist and vegetarian chef in Copenhagen, Denmark (my goodness, I would just love to go visit her!). I'm so intrigued by the different health lessons she presents, along with gorgeous photography. Anything that inspires me to eat healthier, I will get behind 100 percent. Sidenote: I REALLY hope she makes more videos. Love that quinoa one.
